We are seeking a reliable Material Control Specialist to support manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate inventory, timely material flow, and proper coordination between receiving, production, and shipping.
This role plays a critical part in keeping production running efficiently by maintaining material availability while controlling inventory accuracy and cost.
Monitor and manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory
Ensure materials are staged and available to support production schedules
Perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies
Receive, label, and issue materials according to procedures
Coordinate material movement between departments and storage locations
Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/MRP systems
Support production planning, scheduling, and inventory accuracy initiatives
Identify and report material shortages, excess inventory, and risks
Follow all safety, quality, and material handling procedures
Experience in material control, inventory, or logistics within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of inventory accuracy and material flow
Experience using ERP or MRP systems
Ability to read work orders, BOMs, and production schedules
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience
Experience with cycle counting and root cause analysis
Background in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing
APICS, CPIM, or related certifications
